Kitchen Tour: A Great Light and kitchen-dining room in Dublin - With kitchens now at the heart of most homes, many of us crave large open spaces where family and friends can get together while the food is being prepared. Louise Arthur and her husband are no different, and when it came to planning their enveloping extension, they establish a clear brief for a bright space where the couple and their three teenage son could gather. "The concept was an open space full of light and overlooking the garden," said Deirdre Hardiman, an interior designer based in Dublin and Director of Hepburn Designs. "The style of the traditional house is clean and this was achieved through the kitchen to keep the flow of the house."
